Learn more about Alan...

Allan Hanson received his MBA in Marketing from Texas A&M University. After graduating, he entered the banking system and spent almost thirty years in the industry working as a commercial lender and eventually becoming President/CEO of his own bank. He spent many years working for his industry as a board member of the Independent  Bankers Association of America and then as Chairman of the Independent Bankers Association of Texas.

With his roots in community banking, he returned to the Bryan/College Station area in the early 80s and took over a small bank. The banking turmoil of the 80s was hard on Texas banking, but with eight of the ten banks in B/CS failing, he was able to survive and then to sell his bank for his investors in the mid-nineties for what was then, one of the highest price multiples for a Texas Bank. He then moved to Austin as Executive Vice President/Chief Operations Officer of Hartland Bank and after merging with Compass, opened two new banks for Lubbock National Bank in Westlake and College Station.

After retiring in early 2002, he and his wife, Jane Ann, moved to Santa Fe for a year where he wrote a book. Returning to Austin, he began teaching as an adjunct in Marketing at St. Edward's University and at Austin Community College and has taught since 2005 in both the undergraduate and graduate level courses. His passion for learning has always brought him to new adventures and opportunities and in 2005 he joined Prudential Texas Realty as a realtor and as Director of Training.
